Kiran is a performer, choreographer, and scholar who deeply understands Indian classical dance and is astutely aware of its changing context in modern society. His primary goal as a choreographer is to create work that engages, educates, and uplifts a global audience through the poetic language of Indian classical dance. His sense of aesthetics and creative process are informed by his extensive background in Bharatanatyam, passion for neuroscience, and willingness to explore other possibilities with performance. Kiran’s works range from solo pieces of the traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire to interdisciplinary artist-to-artist collaborations. Strong technique, astute musicality, and captivating narrative are some of the distinguishing features of Kiran’s choreography and performance.

“Kiran’s nritta movements are impeccable in line. Interpretative dance too has conviction...”
Leela Venkataraman, The Hindu
“Kiran’s best was the Darbar tana varnam, ‘Daari Teliyaka,’ in Khanda jathi ata tala (14 beats) composed by Patnam Subramania Iyer…It must have been a challenge as nayika bhava is a litmus test for a male dancer. Kiran’s portrayal of a hurt and betrayed heroine was restrained yet clear as he got across the message of sarcasm and anger effectively. He plunged unexplored depths with his involvement; this is where Kiran the student began his journey as an artist...”
Rupa Srikanth, The Hindu
